How did the DFYIT scholarship Program become available?

DFYIT is fortunate to have the support of our community's municipalities, police departments, corporations, businesses, and many individuals who each year generously donate to the organization. These donors share DFYIT's vision and mission that our children have a chance to grow and mature into healthy, productive, drug free youth. One of Miami's most revered philanthropic family foundations, The Batchelor Foundation, became the first to pledge funds for the newly formed DFYIT scholarship program for graduating DFYIT student members. This foundation has made strategic investments in the lives of South Florida's youth by seeking to improve their future educational opportunities.

Who is eligible to apply?

Scholarships are awarded annually to students registered in the Dade and Broward public and private school system where there is a DFYIT club. Any secondary school senior who has been a DFYIT member for a minimum of 2 years, is currently an active DFYIT club member in his or her school and has met all the eligibility criteria, may apply for a scholarship.
